Djembe
The djembe is a traditional African goblet shaped drum, averaging about 61 cm in height. It features a single head stretched with ropes over a hollow body made of hard wood or fibreglass. It is played by striking the head with different parts of bare hands and fingers.
Djembes are featured in African and World music genres.
When you borrow a djembe from RPL, you will receive it in a case to protect it.
An instrument in good condition makes better music. Please see our Care and Respect video below, to learn how to take care of the djembe while you have it.
