Scarves in the Park

Winter has come to Regina and we were in Victoria Park today to help distribute scarves with volunteers from Angels4Warmth, a local non-profit group that distributes items to help keep vulnerable members of our community warm during the winter months. The timing couldn’t have been better as we come up on the first snowstorm of the season.

Over two hundred scarves were wrapped around trees, benches, and lampposts, all in the hopes they will be taken by those who need them most. Many of the scarves were stitched by volunteers who work all year long to make sure there are enough to go around. This year however, we decided we wanted in!

Through our knitting programs, we put out a call to create scarves for this initiative. Over a dozen handmade scarves from RPL program attendees were hung in the park today.

It’s not too late to get in on the action! We have Stitch for a Cause programs happening all November long. All items collected will be donated to Angels4Warmth and distributed by local partners.
