Geoffrey Allen
Geoffrey Allen is the Director of Collections, where he oversees the selection and deselection materials, ensuring that the collection meets customer expectations. He and his team acquire new items, add them to the library’s catalogue and process them so they can be available to the community.
Geoffrey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Medieval Studies from the University of Toronto. He also holds a Master’s in library and Information Studies from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. He began his career in Toronto teaching Grades 4 and 5. Soon afterwards, he was offered the position of teacher-librarian and he enjoyed it so much that it inspired him to pursue a library career.
He is currently a member of the Saskatchewan Library Association and has been actively involved with library conference planning across the country. When he’s not at the library you can find him studying the performance of music from the Baroque and Renaissance eras.
