Music on the Mezzanine: New Concert Series at Central Library

Regina Public Library (RPL) is hosting a new free concert series, Music on the Mezzanine, at Central Library starting June 14, from 7:00 to 8:00pm. The series will feature a new musical artist every second Wednesday of the month.

RPL Film Theatre Celebrates Queer Prairie Storytellers

This Pride month, RPL Film Theatre will highlight the rich stories and perspectives of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities from the Prairies. 
Featured this month will be Alberta-born and Montreal-based filmmaker, Trevor Anderson. Their new feature-length film Before I Change My Mind blends documentary and fictional storytelling to explore queer themes, memory, and personal trials. Trevor notes, “When I was a teenager on the Canadian Prairies in the 1980s, I was often asked, ‘Are you a boy or a girl?’ I wish I could’ve let that question hang in the air unanswered...”

Library board votes to relocate Central Library services

The Regina Public Library Board of Directors voted at its regular public meeting on Tuesday to proceed with a temporary relocation of Central Library services.

The vote was taken due to concerns with failing building infrastructure and its effects on business continuity.

Cree/Métis artist Kevin McKenzie returns home in powerful exhibition at Dunlop Art Gallery

Dunlop Art Gallery is proud to announce the opening of new solo exhibition, Edge of Seventeen by Cree/Métis artist Kevin McKenzie. 

“My father was a survivor of the Lebret (Qu’Appelle) Indian Industrial Residential School,” notes artist Kevin McKenzie. “Unfortunately, he did not survive the accumulated effects of intergenerational trauma. We lost our dear father in 1978; he was thirty-nine years old, I was seventeen.”

Dig into spring with Regina Public Library

Regina Public Library (RPL) has launched its spring season of programming, boasting hundreds of live in-person and online offerings. As always, programs are free to attend with an RPL library card. 

Library programs span a vast range of interests. Customers can use search filters on the RPL website to find their favourite activities, or explore the season’s themes: Gardening, Writes of Spring, Wellness, and Business.
