Central Library closed effective Friday 2:00pm

Central Library is closed for the weekend effective 2:00pm Friday May 29 because the air conditioner is not working and we are unable to control the inside temperature.

“The building is currently too warm to operate safely, so the library will be closed this weekend,” said Jeff Barber, Library Director and CEO. “A contractor has assessed the issue, parts are on order, and we’re working to reopen as soon as possible. We know this is inconvenient, and we appreciate everyone’s patience.”

RPL will reassess the situation on Monday and determine whether temperatures have dropped enough that the building can re-open even for a few hours per day.
