What Streifler does is push the images of the women she produces - through the strategy of masquerade - from the ordinary right over the edge into the extraordinary. Streifler's unruly women play at, deny, curse, mock and laugh at the feminine as a rigid construct, as normal, and in so doing speak eloquently of the fluidity of choices at hand - the possibility of a new social subjectivity.
