The politics of bandwidth and the implications for artists choosing to work with media originally designed for military applications, will be the subject of this presentation. Video documentation of artworks in the fields of Virtual Reality, Computer Graphics, Robotics and Interactive Installations will supplement a discussion of the creative applications of new media tools. Nancy Paterson is a Toronto-based electronic media artist working in the field of interactive installations. She is Artist in Residence at the Bell Centre for Creative Communications, Instructor at the Ontario College of Art & Design, as well as Facilities manager at Charles Street Video in Toronto.
