History then, being equally creative and re-creative, is my chosen medium. Jeremy Borsos This solo exhibition by Jeremy Borsos features works from a photographic series he has been developing over the past four years. For Then Again Borsos has been researching lost urban histories. The artist has collected antiquated envelopes from various cities (so far Oakville, Regina, Victoria, Vancouver and Saskatoon) and attempts to document the addresses to which they were originally sent. From this a photo-montage is created documenting the original envelope underneath the contemporary state of that address. This process is impeded by shifts made in urban planning and address designation. Many of the houses he has attempted to locate no longer exist, cities have changed numbering systems and even street names. This series builds on Borsos' interests in ephemera and the construction and misconstruction of histories and narrative around them. Then Again, as it is exhibited at the Dunlop, will be the first time these documents from various cities are brought together in a single exhibition.
