Blown presents works of inflatable art by artists from Regina, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax. Their artworks are indexical, sensual and invite the viewer to reflect on the fragility of life. "Blown is an exhibition I have been looking forward to presenting for over five years now and the artists in the exhibition, Seema Goel, Ana Rewakowicz, Max Streicher and Robert Zingone, have been working with inflatables and pneumatics for much longer. . . .Although it is common to associate inflatables with balloons, sixties furniture design and other fun things such as parade floats, pools, water toys and even blow-up dolls, the artists in this exhibition build on these assumptions and expand our notions of inflatable applications and associations." - Guest Curator Donna Wawzonek Blown is organized by Dunlop Art Gallery and co-produced with Kenderdine Art Gallery.
