Additional Information

Distinct Means is a programme of twenty-four single-channel video works that were recorded or produced between 1999 and 2004 in Banff, Dublin, Halifax, Montreal, Paris, Toronto and Taipei. Ranging in duration from 10 seconds to 11 minutes, they collectively incorporate sounds and images of a variety of things, including a hand-held film-loop viewer, lists of generic characters, a home computer, 'accidents' from old movies, dandruff, a stereo transparency viewer, a rubber elephant nose, a plastic harmonica, falling rain, popular songs, a pencil, a book, music boxes, a match sculpture, passing clouds, semen, a game of 'hoop and stick', an empty parking lot, texts from an old movie, automobile headlights, a traffic sign, a funeral card photo, cigar smoke, spotlights, whistling, an empty lecture hall, an industrial garage door, and urine.
