Articulate Ink: Press
Additional Information
Driven by a love for the methods and history of printmaking, the founding members of Regina based printmakers' collective, Articulate Ink, have produced a distinct exhibition that exemplifies the command and subtleties integral to print media. Through their work, Michelle Brownridge, Amber Dalton, Karli Jessup and Caitlin Mullan explore a variety of intimate themes such as mental illness, memory, inter-connectivity, idealism, growth and transformation. Working within traditions of print technology associated with posters and advertising, their work challenges the inflated messages inherent in current mass media imagery by demonstrating the slower, more intricate and contemplative aspects of reproductive art making.
The Articulate Ink studio is stationed in the Creative City Centre, a grass roots hub of cultural activities located in downtown Regina. They are committed to providing an environmentally sustainable print facility for local artists as well as the general public. Articulate Ink collaborates with various business people to create unique, hand-made items using traditional tools as well as newer and safer technologies. They will be conducting several workshops for RPL in the 2012 year.
