Jasmine Reimer, currently based in Guelph, explores a fascination with found household objets, perfectionism, and material culture. In order to deflate prescriptive approaches to interior design and its denotation of high/low class structures, Reimer fuses everyday objects with fabricated raw materials to refuse their functionality and their aesthetic, creating an evocative mixture of the familiar and the grotesque.

Jasmine Reimer received her BFA from Emily Carr University in Vancouver in 2009 and is currently completing her MFA at The University of Guelph. Reimer has exhibited widely throughout Canada including INIT/PITT (formerly the Helen Pitt Gallery, Vancouver, BC), The Kelowna Art Gallery (BC), Zavitz Gallery (Guelph, ON), The Boarding House Gallery (Guelph, ON) and The Or Gallery (Vancouver, BC).
