Erin Gee and Ellen Moffat: Two Performances
Additional Information
As part of the group exhibition, Rhubarb, rhubarb, peas and carrots, Dunlop presents performance artworks by Erin Gee and Ellen Moffat.
Erin Gee is a digital artist and composer who works through the concept of human voices in electronic bodies, or electronic voices in human bodies—creating imaginative installation, performance, robotics, and musical scores. In this performance, four songs from Gee’s Larynx series, derived from digitally-rendered images of the human throat, will be premiered live in their entirety.
Ellen Moffat works with sound and space, image and text in independent, collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. Rooted in the vocabulary of sculpture - space, the body and materiality - her primary media is sound. Her performance will comprise another iteration of the open work, she i her, whereby the artist’s own experimental writing is the subject of numerous translative processes, becoming, at times, haptic, audible, visceral, and legible.
