The Library's Strategic Plan, A New Direction: Setting the Course, focuses on six important factors that will contribute to the establishment of a firm foundation for the Library. One of the major points of the plan is Restoring our Branches. The Regina Public Library Board has designated the Prince of Wales Library as one of the first major initiatives.
A Core Committee has been established which will guide the process. The members of this committee are Ken Feser (Manager, Full Service Branches), André Gagnon (Manager, Central Library and Community Branches), Colleen Schommer (Manager, Finance and Administration), Bill Lawson (Manager, Physical Plant) and John Edgar (Manager, Strategic Initiatives.)
Several other teams have been created. They will be responsible for examining service and programming initiatives, the demographics of the community, the consultation process, and communication to the public and staff. The more recent experiences of other library systems will be also investigated.
Information and updates concerning the progress of the Prince of Wales Branch project will be updated on a regular basis.
